Gameplay occurs over four discrete areas; in most instances once you've finished one locale and moved on, you cannot go better back again. Puzzles are all straightforward with abundant clues. There is never a need to refer to a walkthrough but the game is not so easy that you don't feel a sense of accomplishment for successfully completing a task. To my way of thinking, this is the perfect level of difficulty for an adventure gameit is appropriate for novices and experienced adventurers alike.
