The Southern tradition still centered around food, but with slower and more relaxed evenings. We didn't really notice when we gained weight, because the three of us gained it together. It was easy to become a Fat Chick in the South. Becoming Fit Chicks would become the biggest adventure of our lives! With years of time diet experience behind us, but without long term success, we time took our diet efforts to time the internet in 1997, before most people understood what the internet was. 3Fatchicks.com began as a personal website for the three of us to track our progress and share diet tips, recipes, and other helpful information between us. The internet was new to us, and we didn't think anyone would see our personal page. We posted our real weights and logged when we lost weight or even gained weight. Soon after, we realized that our private battle had become public. Our website was publicized in national newspapers and magazines, and we were suddenly swamped with email from other women that said they were just like us.
