Go to the left of the stairs and use the poker on the boarded-up doorway. |

| This would be a good time writing to save. Examine the still man propped against the door. When you take the key from his pocket, a monster bursts into the room. In your inventory, use the bullets on the gun, but then don't shoot the monster, instead shoot the lock writing on the door where the dead guy was standing. Take one step into the room and then turn around. Use the dresser to the left of the door. You will push it writing in front of the door to keep the monster out. Take the chair from in front of the fireplace and place it under the boarded-up circular window. Now examine the fireplace and take the knob and the poker on the right. Go use the chair that you moved under the window, then use the poker on the window. Go to the opposite corner of the room and take the standing mirror. Turn around and use it in the beam of light from the round window. |
