This, at any rate, is the conclusion of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare study on “Are all Australians gaining weight?” which examines the “Differentials in overweight and obesityamong adults, 1989–90 to 2001″. The study concludes that the best predictor of obesity is lowness of socio-economic status (taking into account occupational class and educational achievement).
